Rhode Island is small enough that everyone knows someone, and that cuts both ways: help is close, and so is everybody’s opinion. Families here stall out of embarrassment. A prepared, private plan changes that.

G3 comes in from outside, prepares your family, runs the intervention, and places your loved one here or over a border. We take no referral fees.

We also come to South County, Newport and Aquidneck Island, and Block Island, and we work with families who live here while their loved one is in Boston or Connecticut. Planning can start tonight by video.

What happens when you call

From your first call to the first day of treatment.

Step 01

One confidential call

You tell us what is happening. No script and no pressure. We listen for the details that change the plan: the substances, the history, the risk, and who is actually in the family.

Step 02

We build the plan around you

We choose the model that fits, decide who should be in the room, and confirm a treatment bed that matches the clinical need and the budget — in Providence, elsewhere in Rhode Island, or out of state if that is genuinely better.

Step 03

We coach everyone first

Nobody walks in cold. Each person rehearses what they will say, and we plan for the pushback so a hard moment does not derail the room.

Step 04

The day, and the road after

Matt leads the conversation and keeps the tone steady. When the answer is yes, travel is already arranged and our transport team goes with them.

Why Rhode Island families call G3

In a state this small, families often feel they cannot get help without the whole neighborhood knowing. That is one more reason to work with an outside professional. We bring privacy, structure, and a plan built by people who guide these conversations for a living, so the day stays calm and reachable rather than raw.

Because Matt and Hannah are in long term recovery, they reach a loved one the way people who have lived it can. Your family is understood here, not judged.

Rhode Island’s size cuts both ways. The good programs and the honest professionals are close, but so is everyone who might recognize your loved one in a waiting room. Families here often tell us they delayed getting help precisely because the state felt too small to keep a secret. We take that worry seriously. Working with an outside practice lets you plan quietly, without the whole community weighing in before your loved one has even said yes, and it keeps the focus where it belongs: on one person, and one clear path forward.

Choosing the approach that fits

We do not push a single method. Some families do best with a warm, invitational approach that brings the loved one in from the first call, and others need a more direct, structured conversation. We weigh the history, the risks, and the relationships, then recommend the fit.

To understand the difference first, read invitational versus confrontational. The goal is always a real yes your loved one can accept without shame.

Family-led, nationwide

You will reach Matt or Hannah, not a call center.

Wherever you are in Rhode Island, one confidential call starts it. We assess your situation and tell you honestly what the right next step is — even when that answer is not us.

Independent navigation without referral fees

Rhode Island and nearby New England have many programs, and the marketing does not tell you which are right for your loved one. G3 accepts no commissions, so our recommendations answer only to clinical need, insurance, and budget. We identify the bed before the intervention so a yes leads straight into care.

The best clinical fit is sometimes across a state line, in Massachusetts, Connecticut, or farther. Even a short trip can be long enough for a newly willing loved one to change their mind, and a family in crisis should not have to manage it. Our sober transport team travels with your loved one and delivers them to the door.

Read what to expect from sober transport to see how it protects the yes you worked for. Even a trip that looks short on a Rhode Island map can feel endless to a frightened family, and having a professional make it instead is often the difference between arriving and turning back. We stay in contact throughout the trip and coordinate directly with the receiving program, so nothing about the handoff is left to chance or to an exhausted relative.

Sober transport, even for a short trip

The overdose picture, and when it is an emergency

Illicit fentanyl has hit Rhode Island hard for its size, and it has made every relapse more dangerous. We do not share invented numbers, but the national overdose trend is documented by the CDC. For your family, it means the cost of waiting has gone up. If you are unsure whether a moment has become an emergency, call 911 for any danger to life, or call or text 988 for a mental health crisis. The SAMHSA helpline, 1-800-662-HELP (4357), is free and always open.

Common questions

Rhode Island families ask us this first.

Can you keep this private in a state as small as Rhode Island?

Yes. Discretion is central to how we work. As an outside practice, we plan quietly with your family by phone and video and travel to you for the intervention, so the process stays private rather than becoming neighborhood news.

What if the right treatment is in Massachusetts or Connecticut?

Because we are independent, we recommend the best clinical fit wherever it is, and we accept no referral fees for it. We arrange sober transport so a short trip out of state is handled safely for you.

What do I do if my loved one is in danger tonight?

Call 911 for any risk to life. For a suicide or mental health crisis, call or text 988. The SAMHSA national helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357) is free and confidential at any hour. Call us when things are stable and we will help you plan.

What does hiring an interventionist cost here?

We quote a flat fee before you commit to anything, and it does not change partway through. It covers the planning calls, the family rehearsal, the intervention itself, finding and vetting the program, and the handoff into admission. Because Rhode Island is an easy trip for us by air and road, travel is usually a modest line item, quoted separately. The treatment center bills its own care, and we help you understand that number early. We take no referral fees, so nothing on our shortlist is paid placement.

What if he says no in front of everyone?

It happens, and it does not have to become a scene. We rehearse exactly this: who speaks, who stays quiet, and how the room ends the conversation with everyone’s dignity intact. Most people say yes when the offer is immediate and specific, with a bed held and a ride outside. If yours does not, the family keeps the boundaries it agreed on, and we stay in touch while that lands, because a no on Saturday is often a yes by midweek. We can come back and try again.

How soon could you be here?

Often within a day or two. Rhode Island is a short trip for us, so the limiting factor is usually your family rather than our travel. The first call is free and takes about thirty minutes. After that we need one or two planning sessions with the people who will be in the room, a confirmed bed, and the practical details like work and childcare sorted out. Many families move from first call to intervention inside seventy two hours. If tonight is dangerous, call 911 or 988 first.

The next step is a conversation

You do not have to figure this out alone.

One confidential call with G3 begins it. No pressure, no judgment, just a path forward.
