Professional Interventionist in Virginia
A Professional Interventionist Across Virginia
From the coast to the Blue Ridge, G3 Recovery helps Virginia families replace years of arguing with a single, well-planned step toward treatment.
Virginia is really several places at once: the Beltway suburbs, Hampton Roads, Richmond, and the Blue Ridge counties where options thin out fast. Families in all of them arrive exhausted from arguing. The argument is not the tool. A planned conversation is.
We build that conversation with you, hold the room on the day, and choose treatment on fit, not commission, anywhere in the country.
Where we work in Virginia
We also serve Southwest Virginia, the Shenandoah Valley, and the Eastern Shore, where a good program can be a three hour drive or a flight away. G3 travels to you, and we can begin with a video call the same day.
How we help
Three ways we support Virginia families.
Family Intervention
A planned, coached conversation that unites your family behind one message and one clear option to say yes to.
Explore →02Treatment Navigation
Independent placement with no referral fees, matched to the clinical need and your budget rather than a facility’s marketing deal.
Explore →03Sober Transport
When a yes means travelling to care, a trained escort stays with your loved one every mile of the way.
Explore →Hampton Roads to Northern Virginia
Each region brings its own considerations. In Hampton Roads, covering Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake, military and veteran families are common, and we plan around service obligations and benefits. The Richmond metro has a solid range of programs.
Northern Virginia families near Arlington often have means but also acute privacy concerns tied to careers and security clearances. We tailor both the intervention and the placement to your region and your circumstances, rather than running the same playbook everywhere.
Geography shapes the timeline too. A Richmond family may have a bed within the hour, while a family in the Blue Ridge or on the Eastern Shore is planning around a longer drive. We build the intervention date around when care is actually ready.
Family-led, nationwide
You will reach Matt or Hannah, not a call center.
Wherever you are in Virginia, one confidential call starts it. We assess your situation and tell you honestly what the right next step is — even when that answer is not us.
A calm plan instead of another argument
You have already tried being louder. What you have not tried is being organized.
By the time families call, most have spent years cycling through the same fights. An intervention breaks the cycle by replacing improvised confrontation with a rehearsed, unified conversation.
We coach every participant, choose a model that fits your loved one, and decide the boundaries in advance so nobody has to improvise under pressure. Compare the main styles in our guide to invitational versus confrontational approaches.
Rehearsal is the part families skip on their own, and it is the part that matters most. We run the meeting in advance, so that when the real moment comes, no one is improvising, freezing, or reopening the same old fight.
Independent navigation, no hidden incentives
Virginia has strong programs, and it also has centers that pay for placements. Families rarely see that money changing hands, which is exactly why it works so well on frightened people.
Because we accept none of it, our recommendation is driven only by clinical fit, level of care, and budget. Whether the answer is detox, residential, or intensive outpatient near Richmond or Northern Virginia, we help you choose with clear eyes.
We also read the practical fine print with you: insurance coverage, length of stay, and what the first month out really requires. A place that looks right on a tour has to hold up once your loved one is living inside it.
Virginia has emergency custody and temporary detention procedures for mental health crises, and their criteria are narrow and time-sensitive. We are not attorneys and we do not promise outcomes.
We help you understand how these tools generally work and connect you with a Virginia attorney or the local magistrate or court. Always confirm the current process with local counsel before acting. Our involuntary commitment guide explains the general framework.
Wherever possible, though, we lead with a willing intervention. Someone who chooses treatment engages far better than someone compelled into it, so the legal tools stay a backstop rather than a first resort.
Court-ordered treatment in Virginia
Supporting the whole family
When one person enters treatment, the family does not automatically heal. Old roles and resentments linger, and they can undermine early recovery if no one addresses them directly.
We keep working with parents, partners, and siblings and, when it helps, provide recovery coaching and a family plan for the first ninety days. Our family recovery guide walks through that track in detail.
That work does not end at discharge. Old patterns reassert themselves fastest at home, so we help the family plan the reentry and hold new boundaries through the first months, when relapse risk is highest.
What happens when you call
From your first call to the first day of treatment.
One confidential call
You tell us what is happening. No script and no pressure. We listen for the details that change the plan: the substances, the history, the risk, and who is actually in the family.
We build the plan around you
We choose the model that fits, decide who should be in the room, and confirm a treatment bed that matches the clinical need and the budget — in Virginia Beach, elsewhere in Virginia, or out of state if that is genuinely better.
We coach everyone first
Nobody walks in cold. Each person rehearses what they will say, and we plan for the pushback so a hard moment does not derail the room.
The day, and the road after
Matt leads the conversation and keeps the tone steady. When the answer is yes, travel is already arranged and our transport team goes with them.
Common questions
Virginia families ask us this first.
We are in Northern Virginia and privacy is critical. Can you accommodate that?
Do you work with military and veteran families in Hampton Roads?
What is the cost and what does it include?
We quote a flat fee before you commit. It covers the planning calls with your family, the rehearsal, the intervention itself, and the treatment navigation that follows, including admissions calls and the first weeks of follow-up. Travel within Virginia is quoted separately, and sober transport is optional and priced on its own. We take no referral fees or commissions from any facility. If you have been calling helplines and getting pushed toward one particular program, that is usually why, and it is not how we work.
Half our family is in Maryland and DC. Does that matter?
It matters logistically, not legally. Plenty of Virginia families are spread across the Beltway, with a parent in Bethesda, a sibling in the District, and the person everyone is worried about in Alexandria or Arlington. Everyone joins the planning calls by video, and we decide together who should be in the room and who should stay out of it. If treatment ends up in Maryland, North Carolina, or across the country, we handle the travel and the handoff. Where your family lives does not limit where your loved one can get care.
What if he refuses treatment on the day?
We plan for a no in advance instead of improvising. Your family decides ahead of time what changes: the car, the phone, the money, the place to stay, the silence that has been protecting him at work. Those changes have to be things you will actually do. We also keep the door open, because a refusal at the table often becomes a call two days later, once the usual cushions are gone. Nothing in our approach involves ambushing or humiliating him, and we will not push you into promises you cannot keep.
