Interventionist in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County
Intervention in Palm Beach County, with no one paying us to place your loved one.
From West Palm Beach to Delray Beach to Belle Glade, we prepare your family for one well-planned conversation and then vet treatment the way the county’s own history says you should.
Palm Beach County is where Florida learned, publicly and painfully, what happens when sober housing and treatment are paid to refer to each other. If your loved one is here, or headed here, the question is not only whether they will accept help. It is whose help.
G3 answers that by being paid by the family alone. We are based in Austin, Texas, start preparation by phone and video the day you call, and travel to Palm Beach County for the intervention. No program, house or marketer pays us anything.
Is this your situation?
An adult child who came to Delray Beach for treatment and has cycled through several programs since. A parent in Jupiter or Wellington drinking behind a successful life. A spouse in the western communities with a bipolar diagnosis who has stopped taking medication. Each calls for a different plan, and the first call is how we find it.
What the Sober Homes Task Force found, and why it still matters
In 2016 the 15th Judicial Circuit convened a task force, alongside a grand jury, to look at recovery residences and the treatment industry in Palm Beach County. According to the Florida House’s final analysis of HB 807 (2017), it identified patient brokering and fraudulent marketing as key problems, found that some providers paid weekly kickbacks to the sober homes where their patients lived, and tied those payments to an incentive to keep people cycling between treatment and relapse. The same analysis reports at least seventeen patient brokering arrests in the county from fall 2016.
The Legislature answered with ch. 2017-173. Today the Patient Brokering Act, s. 817.505, prohibits any person or provider from offering or receiving a commission, bonus, benefit or kickback to induce a referral, with felony penalties that climb to a $500,000 fine at 20 or more patients. A licensed provider may not refer to, or accept a referral from, a recovery residence unless it holds a valid certificate and is run by a certified administrator (s. 397.4873).
Local zoning reflects the same density. The City of Delray Beach’s community residence verification form asks a sober home whether it is FARR certified under s. 397.487 and whether it sits within 660 feet of another community residence. For a family, the practical lesson is simple: check the house on the FARR site, check the program in the DCF licensing search, and ask who pays whom.
How we vet Palm Beach programs
Four questions we ask before we recommend anyone.
Who owns the housing?
If the program owns or funds the sober home it refers to, we want to know how residents move between them and who decides.
Treatment navigation →02What happens after a relapse?
A clinical answer sounds like a plan. A sales answer sounds like a readmission. The Florida Shuffle lives in that gap.
Warning signs →03What does the license cover?
A DCF substance use license and an AHCA psychiatric license are different things, and neither is a quality rating.
Choosing a program →04Who meets them at the door?
We make sure someone your family trusts is with your loved one from the intervention to the admissions desk.
Sober transport →Five courthouses, one county, current law
Your loved one must be in Palm Beach County when you file here.
Palm Beach County is the whole 15th Judicial Circuit (s. 26.021). The circuit’s Marchman Act flyer lists five places to file: the Main Courthouse at 205 North Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach, the South County Courthouse in Delray Beach, the North County Courthouse in Palm Beach Gardens, the West County Courthouse in Belle Glade, and the Riviera Beach Civil Drug Court, which keeps evening and Saturday hours. It notes that the respondent must be physically in the county and must be personally served, and that petitioners attend every hearing.
Read that flyer with one correction. It still describes petitions by “any three adults.” Current law, after the 2024 rewrite, lets a spouse, guardian, relative, service provider, or a single adult with direct personal knowledge file (s. 397.68112). The hearing comes within 10 court working days (s. 397.68151), and a treatment order runs up to 90 days (s. 397.697). There is no filing fee (s. 397.681). Our Florida Marchman Act guide covers the full sequence.
For a psychiatric emergency, Southeast Florida Behavioral Health Network explains that a family files a sworn ex parte petition in person at the Clerk & Comptroller, arriving by 3:30 p.m., and that the Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division picks the person up once the order is certified. The examination lasts up to 72 hours (s. 394.463). Longer involuntary services must be sought by a facility or treating provider, not the family (s. 394.467). Our Florida mental health intervention page explains how we plan around that.
If someone is overdosing, armed, or talking about suicide with a plan, call 911 now. An intervention is never the answer to an active emergency.
For the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, call or text 988, which in Florida connects to the 988 Florida Lifeline. Southeast Florida Behavioral Health Network, the DCF managing entity for Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast counties, lists South County Mental Health Center as the Mobile Response Team for all of Palm Beach County: dial 211 and ask for MRT services, offered 24/7 to people of all ages.
DCF’s list of Baker Act receiving facilities for the county includes St. Mary’s Medical Center and JFK Medical Center North Campus in West Palm Beach, Delray Medical Center/Fair Oaks Pavilion, and South County Mental Health Center’s crisis units in Delray Beach and Belle Glade (DCF list, undated).
When it cannot wait for a plan
From the first call to the drive north, or the flight home
Hannah Gibson, our co-founder and case manager, takes the history and sorts out who in the family holds real influence. Matt Gibson, a Certified Interventionist (CAI), shapes the approach and coaches each participant by video. The letters get shorter and steadier with each pass. Meanwhile we confirm a program, verify benefits, and arrange travel.
The county’s airport has a new name and code: as of 2026 it is President Donald J. Trump International Airport, and its IATA code changed from PBI to DJT on August 18, 2026, according to the airport. Relatives booking flights should search DJT. From West Palm Beach, I-95 and the Turnpike run north to the Treasure Coast and south to Broward. If treatment is out of state, an escorted flight is usually cleaner than a long drive, and our guide to interstate intervention logistics explains how we coordinate it.
Palm Beach County recorded 306 drug poisoning deaths among residents in 2024, an age-adjusted rate of 21.0 per 100,000, down from 478 the year before (FLHealthCHARTS). The fee for our work is flat, in writing, before you commit, with travel at actual cost and transport quoted separately.
