Interventionist in Melbourne, Florida
Intervention help for Melbourne and Space Coast families.
When drinking, drugs or a mental illness has taken over someone you love in Brevard County, we help your family stop reacting and start moving toward treatment, together and with a plan.
Brevard is a long county, and families here often feel the distance: a parent in Titusville, an adult child in Palm Bay, a treatment program somewhere none of them have seen. Our job is to pull that into one plan.
G3 Recovery is based in Austin, Texas. Matt Gibson, a Certified Interventionist (CAI), prepares your family by phone and video, then flies to the Space Coast to guide the conversation in person. Hannah Gibson manages every detail through admission. No program pays us, ever.
What families in Brevard tell us
That they have done the crisis unit, the court date and the promise to quit, sometimes more than once. That they are tired of being the only ones who see it. That they want someone outside the family to say the hard part plainly. That is a reasonable thing to want.
Services
What we do for families on the Space Coast.
Family intervention
Coached letters, a rehearsed order of speakers, a program confirmed in advance. Built so that a yes on the day turns into an admission on the day.

For psychosis, mania, severe depression and the person who does not believe anything is wrong. Paced gently and planned around safety.

We vet programs in Brevard, elsewhere in Florida and out of state on clinical fit and cost, then stay involved after admission.
Explore →What the Brevard data says
The Florida Department of Health counts deaths by the decedent’s county of residence. On FLHealthCHARTS, Brevard recorded 217 drug poisoning deaths in 2024, an age-adjusted 34.4 per 100,000, against 21.3 for the state. In 2023 the county lost 280 residents, a rate of 47.7.
Those figures mean two things to a Brevard family. The decline is genuine and worth taking hope from. And the county’s rate still runs well above Florida’s, so a loved one using opioids or pills of unknown origin is not in a situation that rewards patience. Keep naloxone in the home while we plan, and call 911 at any sign of overdose.
The court side: Brevard and the Eighteenth Circuit
Brevard and Seminole counties make up Florida’s Eighteenth Judicial Circuit (s. 26.021). The circuit lists the Moore Justice Center in Viera, the Melbourne Courthouse on Nieman Avenue and the Titusville Courthouse among its Brevard locations. Marchman cases in both counties follow the chief judge’s Administrative Order 24-47, governing Marchman Act procedures, signed in December 2024. It directs that a petition be filed with the clerk in the county where the respondent is located, that the hearing happen within ten court working days of filing unless continued, and that the hearing may be referred to a general magistrate.
Florida law decides who may sign. For an adult, s. 397.68112 allows a spouse, guardian, any relative, a service provider, or one adult with direct personal knowledge of the substance use and prior treatment. The clerk may not charge a filing fee (s. 397.681), and an order for treatment can last up to 90 days (s. 397.697). Our Marchman Act guide lays out what to gather before you file.
Here is a local detail worth knowing. Harbor Pines, run by Circles of Care at 880 Airport Road in Melbourne, describes itself as a 50-bed inpatient crisis stabilization unit that primarily treats people meeting Baker Act criteria, on a voluntary or involuntary basis. Circles of Care’s page for Twin Rivers, its detox and residential addiction program, notes that ex parte Marchman Act commitments and court ordered services are housed at Harbor Pines, because Twin Rivers is an unlocked, voluntary unit.
The Baker Act itself works differently from Marchman. Under s. 394.463 an examination can begin on a law enforcement decision, a professional certificate, or a judge’s ex parte order, and it runs up to 72 hours. Only a facility or treating provider can then ask the court for longer involuntary services under s. 394.467. Where drinking or drug use and a psychiatric illness feed each other, read our guide to dual diagnosis before deciding which door to knock on.
Where Brevard crises are stabilized
Emergencies
Overdose or immediate danger? Call 911.
An intervention is planned over days, so it is never the answer to an emergency happening now. Call 911 for a medical or safety emergency, and call or text 988 for a mental health or substance use crisis. Reach us once everyone is safe.
Crisis resources in Brevard County
988 in Florida reaches the 988 Florida Lifeline, whose counselors can send a Mobile Response Team in person or by telehealth. Circles of Care tells people facing an emergency to contact 911 or its Intake Services Department at (321) 914-0640, and lists Twin Rivers detox at 321-722-5222. State funding for Brevard’s public behavioral health system flows through Central Florida Cares Health System, the managing entity DCF assigns to Brevard along with Orange, Osceola and Seminole in its contact list.
These services keep people alive through the worst nights. What they cannot do is hold a family together around one message, or keep a placement waiting while your loved one decides. That is the gap we fill.
A careful eye on Florida treatment
Because no one pays us for placements, we can tell you plainly when a program is a poor fit. Florida’s s. 817.505 already makes patient brokering a felony, which tells you how often money has decided where patients go. We start every search by confirming a substance use license in the DCF provider search, and for psychiatric programs, AHCA’s FloridaHealthFinder.
Step-down housing matters as much as the program. Under s. 397.4873, a licensed provider may not refer patients to a recovery residence that is not certified or lacks a certified administrator, and the Florida Association of Recovery Residences publishes the certified list. Through treatment navigation we check all of it, then ask the questions a brochure skips.
Travel along the Space Coast
Matt usually flies into Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB), which keeps him minutes from most of south Brevard. Orlando International is the alternative when schedules demand it. I-95 runs the length of the county, so a family in Titusville and a loved one in Palm Bay can still meet in one place without a long day of driving.
If the right program is out of state, our sober transport escorts handle the trip, and our interstate logistics guide explains how tickets, medication and identification are managed so a fragile yes does not fall apart at an airport gate.
