Options weighed honestly

In New Jersey you are never far from a treatment ad, a hotline, or a friend with a recommendation, and that noise is its own paralysis. You do not need more options; you need the right one.

We coach the family, vet the program, and take no money from anyone we send you to.

Where we work in New Jersey

We also work with families at the Shore, in the Pine Barrens, in the northwest hills, and in the Philadelphia and New York suburbs on either edge of the state. G3 travels to you and can begin virtually the same day you call.

How an intervention takes shape

An intervention is a prepared, loving family meeting, not an ambush. We learn your family’s history first, then help you decide who should be in the room, coach each person on what to say, and rehearse the reactions that usually go wrong.

On the day we keep the conversation steady so it stays an offer of help, and we have a treatment path ready so a yes turns into action the same day. In a dense, fast-moving part of the country, that readiness matters: the moment someone agrees, you want a bed lined up and transport arranged, not a scramble of phone calls while the window closes.

Levels of care, explained plainly

Detox, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient: the terms blur together when you are frightened. Each is a different intensity of care for a different point in recovery, and matching the level to the actual clinical need is most of the work.

We assess the substance and severity, any mental-health needs, and the insurance reality, then recommend the level that fits, whether it sits in New Jersey or just across a bridge. Getting this right matters, because a person who is placed in care that is too light can relapse fast, while care that is more intensive than needed wastes money and goodwill you may need later.

The density of programs around New Jersey is a blessing and a trap. Many referral services are paid by the centers they recommend, so their advice bends toward their revenue. We take no referral fees, so ours does not. We can weigh options across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania honestly and steer you to the right fit for the clinical need and the budget.

That independence lets us say the things a sales-driven line will not: that a heavily advertised center may not suit your loved one, or that a quieter program is the better match. We ask about medical staffing, co-occurring care, and discharge planning, and we translate the answers into plain language.

Independent navigation in a crowded market

Family-led, nationwide

You will reach Matt or Hannah, not a call center.

Wherever you are in New Jersey, one confidential call starts it. We assess your situation and tell you honestly what the right next step is — even when that answer is not us.

Sober transport and beyond

With so many programs close by, families assume getting there is easy. It often is not, because a fragile yes and a short car ride are a risky mix. We arrange calm sober transport so your loved one arrives, with a trained companion through the hours when second thoughts are strongest.

Then we coach the family through the first weeks so home reinforces the change instead of undoing it. We help you hold boundaries, handle the hard calls from treatment without caving, and build an aftercare plan before your loved one comes home, so the momentum from the intervention carries into daily life.

Crisis and commitment questions

Intervention is for someone unsafe over time, not in immediate danger. If there is an overdose, a weapon, or someone at risk right now, call 911. For suicidal thinking or a psychiatric emergency, call or text 988. As for requiring an adult into treatment, New Jersey has legal avenues in some circumstances, but the rules are specific and change, so confirm current details with a New Jersey court and a local attorney. We usually begin with a voluntary intervention.

What happens when you call

From your first call to the first day of treatment.

Step 01

One confidential call

You tell us what is happening. No script and no pressure. We listen for the details that change the plan: the substances, the history, the risk, and who is actually in the family.

Step 02

We build the plan around you

We choose the model that fits, decide who should be in the room, and confirm a treatment bed that matches the clinical need and the budget — in Newark, elsewhere in New Jersey, or out of state if that is genuinely better.

Step 03

We coach everyone first

Nobody walks in cold. Each person rehearses what they will say, and we plan for the pushback so a hard moment does not derail the room.

Step 04

The day, and the road after

Matt leads the conversation and keeps the tone steady. When the answer is yes, travel is already arranged and our transport team goes with them.

Common questions

New Jersey families ask us this first.

There are treatment centers everywhere here. Why use a navigator?

Because more options make it harder, not easier, to choose well, and many referral services are paid by the centers they push. We take no referral fees, so we can compare programs across New Jersey and neighboring states on the merits and recommend the one that actually fits.

Can we require an adult to get treatment in New Jersey?

New Jersey has legal avenues in certain circumstances, but they run through the courts and the standards change, so confirm current details with a New Jersey court and a local attorney. In practice a voluntary intervention leads to better follow-through, which is why we start there.

Would you send our loved one to a program in New York or Pennsylvania?

If it is the best fit, yes. We are not tied to any state or facility. We weigh options across the region and recommend the right level of care wherever it is, and we handle the transport logistics either way.

How much does an intervention cost?

We quote a flat fee in writing before you commit, so nothing is a surprise afterward. It covers the assessment call, the planning sessions, coaching every person who will be in the room, rehearsing what they say, facilitating the meeting, and coordinating the admission. Travel is billed at cost, and sober transport is quoted separately once we know where he is going. Treatment is billed by the facility. We accept no referral fees, which in a market this crowded is the difference between advice and advertising.

What if she says no to treatment?

We prepare for that outcome deliberately. Before the meeting, each person decides what actually changes if she refuses: the money, the apartment, the car, the childcare, the job she is being covered for. Those boundaries are stated calmly, once, and then kept, which is the part families struggle with most. Afterward we stay involved, keep everyone consistent so she cannot find a softer answer from one relative, and hold the treatment option open. Refusals in the room often become admissions later that week.

Will our insurance pay for treatment here?

Frequently, yes. Commercial plans and NJ FamilyCare both cover substance use treatment, and what you owe depends on the level of care, your deductible, and whether the program is in network. We verify benefits with the facility before you commit, get a plain out of pocket number, and push back when a program recommends a longer or higher level stay than the assessment supports. Our fee is separate from treatment and is not billed to insurance. If cost is the barrier, tell us early and we will build the plan around it.

The next step is a conversation

You do not have to figure this out alone.

One confidential call with G3 begins it. No pressure, no judgment, just a path forward.
